How to pronounce Spanish

Spanish spelling is quite regular. Learn a few simple rules, then listen to and imitate the course voice.

1

Keep the vowels clear

Each vowel nearly always keeps the same sound. Keep it short and clear, even at the end of a word.

2

Notice the special consonants

3

Place the word stress

A written accent marks the stressed syllable. Without one, usually stress the next-to-last syllable when a word ends in a vowel, n or s.

GRA-cias stress the next-to-last syllable ho-TEL stress the final syllable te--fo-no the written accent wins
